Last Sunday, Chels and I went and had our nails done and had lunch. I have never gone to get acrylic nails. It was an experience, that's for sure. When we finished, our nails looked so good. I liked how they looked, however the length of them was just long! Especially for me, since I keep my nails so short.
Work is just so much the first week/two weeks back after a long break like Christmas Break. It just takes a bit to not be behind and to get back into the swing of things. I am almost caught up. I am a bit behind on grading, but the prep is coming along better than the past couple weeks. It will feel good to be mostly back on track. This whole school year though, being in the new grade, is like being behind all year. It is because I'm still figuring out the fourth grade everything.
So far in January, I have been busy every week/weekend and not just with work. It's nice.
I bought a new seatbeltbag. It is a Mickey Mouse comic strip one and I LOVE the pattern. However, when it arrived it is much larger than I thought/anticipated. It wouldn't be so bad, but the handles don't make it an easy task to wear the purse over my shoulder. I'm not really the kind to enjoy carrying my purse in my hand. I think once I get back home, I'm going to send it back and exchange it for a smaller one. The only bummer about exchanging it, is that they don't have the same mickey pattern in the smaller bag size. So I'm going to get the smaller baguette (it is called) that is red, white and blue mickey.
My kiddos in class were somewhat ok this past week. Monday, two of my main talkers, talk-backers were out and it was nice. Then on Wednesday and Thursday, my behavior child was out. It's not great that these kids miss school, but as a teacher it is nice to have a break from them.
The kids on Friday were in rare form talking-wise. They talked and talked and talked all day long. It is so rude and makes it tough to teach. I tell them this and some kids really lose out because they want to learn and are excited to learn, but their peers just chat and chat and chat.
I love having 3 day weekends! However, just like anyone, I hate when they end. I am worn out from driving so much this weekend, and will have a tough time getting up for work tomorrow. Glad it is only a 4 day week for work. In addition, very busy. Tuesday night will be volleyball at the gym and Friday Night Legally Blonde. Saturday is probable for going to Phoenix to watch a friend in a dance showcase of sorts. Whew, just such a wonderful and busy start to 2010.
